Conscious Sedation is a method used to assist those patients with anxiety or general fear of a dentist or dental procedures.

The most commonly employed technique of conscious sedation in dentistry is inhalation sedation with nitrous oxide & oxygen (N20-02) or "Laughing Gas".  When utilizing N20-02, the goal is to eliminate dental fears, making the patient more comfortable while Dr. Miller is able to complete the planned treatment in a more effective manner.   For those patients who cannot tolerate laughing gas or prefer an alternate means of relaxation, Dr. Miller may prescribe medication which will aide in relaxing you prior to you procedure.

Anxiety or the fear of dentistry is very common.  Dr. Michael Miller and the dental team of Lake Oconee Family Dental strive to make sure all patients are absolutely comfortable before, during and after each visit.
