Composite Restoration/Fillings may be necessary should Dr. Miller's exam detect tooth decay often referred to as a cavity.  This treatment is also used when old amalgam or "silver" fillings are removed and replaced with tooth colored material.

While composite material is most certainly aesthetically pleasing, it is tremendously functional as well.  Composite restorations are fused or bonded to the natural tooth which reduces or prevents decay-causing bacteria from getting into the inner part of the tooth.
